A CM Punk WWE return has been talked about since he left the company almost 10 years ago. Nobody thought it would happen, but he is back.
CM Punk WWE Return Details Emerge Following Survivor Series
Chicago’s Allstate Arena went ballistic on Saturday night at the conclusion of WWE Survivor Series 2023. The show was great from start to finish, with a surprise ending very few saw coming.
After about 10 years away, CM Punk returned to WWE at the conclusion of the pay per view. He did not say anything or make many gestures, but the crowds pop will be one the loudest in WWE history.
There was always a possibly CM Punk could return to WWE, but few believed it was possible. And, they were right.
According to PWInsider, the CM Punk WWE return only began taking place last week. The deal is supposedly for several years and was signed before the pay per view began.
WWE was going to wait until the Royal Rumble for Punk to appear, although they changed direction. The belief was the longer they kept the story under-wraps, the odds of it getting leaked would only grow.
Outside of Triple H and Nick Khan, maybe only a few other people knew. The secret was kept such a secret, basically everyone reported Punk was not going to make an appearance.
The crowd totally dug the moment, yet the wrestlers might have a difference of opinion. It is said several were unhappy Punk was gone and did not like his unannounced appearance.
Remember, CM Punk spent the last few years with AEW. While he started on great terms, it went sour in a hurry.
Several times Punk was hurt, he was suspended twice and then ultimately released.
So, was a CM Punk return at Survivor Series the right call by WWE or have they created a new slew of problems?
