Some fans may be wondering…is there extra motivation behind Shinsuke Nakamura’s new push?

Most fans probably have discounted the King of Strongstyle’s new push as nothing more than a side effect of Triple H taking over the complete control of creative.

And, perhaps, an extra indication that Vince McMahon really did lose the power struggle once the sale of WWE was officially completed.

However, that might not be all there is to it.

Yes, Triple H used Nakamura to great success in NXT. His run with the black and gold brand included the NXT title.

Since arriving on the main roster, his time there has been a mixed bag.

Yes, Nakamura has had shots at the big titles…including following a Royal Rumble victory. But thus far, he has not won the biggest prize.

I truly hoped he would have finally gotten a main roster world title during his recent feud with Seth Rollins.

But, while that feud has seemingly concluded, Nakamura is still in the thick of things.

So much so that a good chunk of the fan base think that his veiled threats in his ongoing vignettes are setting him up for a mystery opponent soon. A very big one.

But according to the Wrestling Observer, there’s some belief that WWE is showcasing Nakamura in part to appeal to another massive Japanese talent.

That would be none other than Kazuchika Okada.

Okada and Nakamura are said to be close, and it’s believed that WWE want to bring in this massive talent.

Whether Okada will be swayed remains to be seen, but it seems WWE is doing whatever they can to convince him to do so.

And, after losing out on Will Ospreay, perhaps the company will ramp up its efforts.

So, is Shinsuke Nakamura’s new push the right idea?
