Matt Riddle’s First Booking Post-WWE

It’s important to note that the King of Bros cannot sign with any other wrestling companies until his non-compete clause with the WWE ends this coming December. Reports have revealed that his people are talking with several other promotions.

Until then, it looks like he’s starting to line up other appearances. In fact, his first post-WWE match has been confirmed.

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, he’ll be facing off against Rob Van Dam (RVD) at Big Time Wrestling – The Reunion 3 event, taking place in Chillicothe, Ohio. Tickets are currently on sale.

Recently, MCW Pro Wrestling also announced that the talent would appear at their Winter Blast event taking place on February 3rd of next year. He’ll be meeting fans and signing autographs, but it doesn’t seem clear as to whether or not he’ll be “wrestling”.

A former MMA star, the talent joined the WWE in 2018, debuting in NXT. He’d make his way up to the main roster in the spring of 2020, landing on Friday Night SmackDown.

Over the years, he had a notable career with the company. He held the NXT tag titles with Pete Dunne, he was a United States Champion, and he experienced some incredible success when he partnered up with Randy Orton.

The duo was known as RK-Bro, and even held the RAW Tag Titles, twice. Sadly, in May 2022, Orton had to step away from action due to a back injury.

The good news is The Viper is set to return to the ring this coming weekend at the 2023 Survivor Series. The bad is that his former partner obviously won’t be there as he’s been long-fired.

Here’s hoping Riddle experiences great success with this new chapter in his life. Only time will tell.
