While he leaves some fans wondering what could have been, others are asking what Matt Riddle’s next move could be.

Considering that, at times in WWE, he was equal parts controversial and amazing.

He was getting over with fans at a great clip for a while, even before being paired with future WWE Hall of Famer Randy Orton.

It seemed that, whenever that unlikely tag team run concluded, we might just see Riddle go supersonic with a massive push.

Except, well, Riddle was his own worst enemy, for the most part.

Red flags were popping up constantly, leading to the loss of a push…then to rehab…then to a lost job, as he was released not long ago by WWE.

Fans know that Tony Khan has a propensity for picking up ex-WWE Superstars because, well, it seems he can never have enough toys…and he says he’d never lay anyone off.

So is that where we will see Riddle next?

It seems that the radioactive yet talented fighter might be heading back to his roots.

Prior to beginning his career in wrestling, the Original Bro spent time in the MMA world, mostly with UFC.

And we know that Dana White won’t take Riddle back…

Per reports, thus far the only promotions believed to have expressed any interest in Matt Riddle at all?

While those are certainly options…it gives you an idea of just how damaged and toxic Matt Riddle is as a free agent.

Between the numerous accusations from his exes, to his more recent dust-up at JFK Airport right before WWE cut their losses…there’s a lot to want to stay away from.

Which is a shame, considering that when you remove all of the noise, you have a really athletic and talented in ring performer.

Perhaps taking a few steps down will help Riddle rehab things and get himself right. Or, perhaps we will be discussing how he was so talented and yet couldn’t stop self-destructing.
