Randy Orton has been out of action since May 2022, due to a back injury. While there has been a buzz around his imminent return, a new report sheds some light on his comeback.
Randy Orton’s Return Imminent
The Viper has been with the WWE for over two decades. He’s one of those superstars who has “done it all” in the company and is a guaranteed future Hall of Famer.
As both a Grand Slam and Triple Crown Champion, he’s held the WWE title 14 times, has been both a U.S. and Intercontinental Champion, and held the WWE Tag Titles four times. In addition, he was the 2013 Mr. Money in the Bank (MITB) and a two-time Royal Rumble winner (2009, 2017).

It’s undeniable that fans miss seeing him in the squared circle. Due to a back injury, he’s been out of action for about 17 months now.
Still, a new report from Xero News, a handle on X, provides the WWE Universe with some hope. As you can see from the tweet above, WWE Creative is having discussions regarding storylines for the Legend Killer’s major return.
The report notes that a date or timeline hasn’t been officially announced as of yet. Fans will have to wait and see.
Before his injury, The Viper teamed up with Matt Riddle as RK-Bro, and the tag duo had two incredible tag team title runs. It’s unclear as to whether he’ll have a singles or tag run upon his return, as Riddle was recently released.
Kim Orton, the WWE star’s wife, recently posted a slew of pictures with her hubby, as the two went on a beautiful hike together. He looks to be in good condition and in good spirits.
It’s hard to say at this point when he’ll return to the ring, as 2023 winds to a close. Perhaps a surprise 2024 Royal Rumble appearance is in the cards?
