Jay White just finished a major storyline in AEW, but the former NJPW wrestler is not happy how the entire event played out.

Jay White Not Thrilled With Recent AEW Angle

At Full Gear, Jay White challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship. In the end, MJF emerged the victor to keep his title for a full year.

In a classic heel move, the buildup saw White steal the actual title and taunt MJF for weeks. During the pay per view, MJF was taken out early and supposed to be replaced by Adam Cole.

Since Cole was legitimately hurt, MJF would ‘return’ to the arena after being taken out on a stretcher. The title stayed where it was and surprisingly, no heel turn from Cole.

Wade Keller, on Pro Wrestling Torch, reports how Jay White was not too happy with the entire angle. Basically, he felt the story did nothing to elevate his character.

“Jay White wasn’t thrilled, based on what I’ve been told,” said Keller. “How things went with the build and the match against MJF, so he might be motivated to shine in this tournament.”

“He’s still among the top choices for Tony Khan to build around as a top-top star in his company for years to come. A win here, with a series of standout matches, would elevate him in the AEW universe closer to how his New Japan fans viewed him.

Earlier in the week, AEW introduced the Continental Classic Tournament. It will see a champion crowned at World’s End on December 30.

Already, Jay White scored three points by pinning Rush on Tuesday’s Dynamite.

And, remember, the former NJPW star also has the Bullet Club Gold members there if he needs assistance.
