Adam Cole appeared on the recent edition of AEW Dynamite with an injury update that doesn’t seem good.
Injury Update On AEW’s Adam Cole
According to the AEW superstar during his Dynamite segment, he’s not even close to being healed. In fact, he notes he’s as far away from walking as he is to wrestling.
Still, the top talent promised fans that he is doing everything possible to return to in-ring action, as soon as he can. Unfortunately, this is not the best news.
He suffered a broken ankle during Dynamite’s Grand Slam special this past September. He had noted that he requires two surgeries, a plate, and several screws to completely recover from this injury. The only silver lining in all this is he still is one-half of the ROH Tag Team Championships, with World Heavyweight Champion, MJF.
At the age of 34, he’s a veteran of this business, starting his career in 2008. Over the years, he’s worked the indie circuit and was involved with Ring of Honor (ROH), prior to AEW purchasing the company.
He jumped over to the WWE in 2017, debuting at NXT in August of that year. He had a highly successful run with the developmental brand, holding the NXT Championship, North American Championship, and NXT Tag Team Championship.
He earned the spot of second NXT Triple Crown Champion. Other milestones include being the longest-running NXT Champion of all time, and he was the first-ever NXT North American titleholder.
With that being said, he ended his WWE run in August 2021, after his contract expired. Cole would become All Elite later that year in September.
Sadly, injuries have plagued the star’s All Elite Wrestling run. He had a concussion in 2022 that left him out of action for months, and now this.
Here’s hoping his recovery is smooth and speedy. Most fans can’t wait to see him back in the squared circle.
