Simple question…but could WWE really land a huge free agent?

At one point in time, most folks plugged into the industry would have said absolutely not.

However, things have changed, and this question now has a very different answer.

Maybe.

Now, to add some actual information here…from good sources.

This particular free agent would be none other than Will Ospreay.

At times, he has been called one of the best wrestlers not currently in WWE.

And for much of that talk, he was either working in or destined for AEW or TNA or some similar home.

Not anymore. Or at least, maybe not anymore.

Could WWE Really Land A Huge Free Agent?

Some context, just because we should.

Ospreay is currently under contract with NJPW. That contract expires February 1st, 2024.

Because he is in NJPW, and that company has a relationship with AEW, we’ve seen him a bit over here.

However, in past interviews, the star noted that he didn’t want to be in the United States full time.

Things, it seems, have changed.

A couple of things to keep in mind here, based on recent happenings.

One, WWE signed another international talent who had previously said he didn’t want to move to the US. GUNTHER is currently on a record Intercontinental Championship reign.

WWE is also under new ownership, and Triple H won the creative tug of war. Perhaps this made Ospreay reconsider.

And stoking the flames of hope for WWE fans? Ospreay and Seth Rollins have been poking at each other via social media.

Now, that could just be the two having fun…but where there’s smoke, there is usually fire…and in this case, the fire could be WWE landing a massive free agent early in 2024.

Like…could we see Seth Rollins have a match at WrestleMania against yet another mystery opponent?
