Lots Of WWE Contracts Still Expiring In 2024

We've heard of a couple, but it seems lots of WWE contracts still expiring in 2024, even after the sale has been completed.

We’ve heard of a couple, but it seems lots of WWE contracts still expiring in 2024, even after the sale has been completed.

Looking back to the time prior to the purchase of WWE by Endeavor was completed, the buzz was that any signings, new or otherwise, were waiting until the deal got done.

The deal got done as summer wound down, and while we’ve seen a signing or two, the existing Superstars with not much time left on their contracts…are still waiting.

According to Fightful, there are some we know about, like Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins, but there are a number of other talents with expiring contracts next year.

There was a report that Sheamus is among those with deals ending in 2024, so much so that some have wondered if he would follow Adam Copeland to AEW rather than re-sign.

On top of that, the next calendar year is likely going to give TKO a chance to bid on a couple of incredibly talented performers…and you have to wonder if that will factor in.

Thus far, we’ve seen the return of Nia Jax, and everyone around the world knows about the biggest signing in recent months in the form of Jade Cargill.

But, as has been rumored and teased for…a really long time…it is believed that Maxwell Jacob Friedman will be free in January, and if true, you can expect a lot of money thrown his way.

What is unclear is if he simply wants the blank check, or if he might just want WWE.

More recently, a man who had previously said he’d never go to WWE is now open to the jump. Will Ospreay may never wrestle for the company, but the simple fact that he’s now open to it is worth monitoring.

What does all that mean? Well, I am sure WWE will want to retain it’s Superstars…but perhaps some will not get re-signed in favor of some new faces seeking new opportunities.

Either way, as of this moment, TKO have not shown their plans. Per the report, those talents with not much left on their deals still haven’t heard much, if anything.

The smart thinking here is a deal for someone like Rollins is a no-brainer. But, is a new deal a slam dunk for someone like Drew McIntyre or Sheamus?

Considering shortly after the purchase that a decent number of Superstars were cut, there is certainly some eye on fiscal responsibility.

Next year could be a very interesting one for wrestlers on the move.
