This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this : a Superstar pushing to have an extended stay in NXT.

In recent years, every so often, we have seen so-called “main roster” Superstars land back in NXT for one reason or another.

Most recently, the cross-overs have ramped up significantly.

We saw AJ Styles work a program with Grayson Waller. We’ve seen Johnny Gargano return to take him on too.

Most recently, Dom Mysterio has become the NXT North American Champion, but he is not the only big name hanging around in Orlando nowadays.

We have seen other former main roster regulars land in Orlando for extended stays.

Finn Balor and Apollo Crews come to mind. The former Ember Moon did the same too.

As of the most recent WWE Draft, now Baron Corbin has found a new home in Orlando…and he is pushing to have an extended stay in NXT.

The time in what amounts to WWE Developmental could be good for the Lone Wolf.

He certainly has the size and athletic ability, but he has struggled to really gain main roster traction.

It’s hard to remember he won Money In The Bank…but had one of the worst cash-ins of all time. And I can’t help but think that has haunted him ever since.

But…now he is rediscovering himself in Orlando, and he wants to stick around in NXT for as long as he can.

Speaking during the SummerSlam weekend, while he noted that he was a free agent, he was enjoying his time working at the Performance Center.

Considering what he could be capable of, if extra time in NXT helps him get sorted out and makes him a better Superstar, everyone wins.
