As WWE SummerSlam approaches, two major stars are still seeming out on injury. A new report offers some medical updates on their statuses.
Medical Update On Bray Wyatt
Fightful Select reveals that Bray Wyatt is still out of action with an illness that has sidelined him since February. Wyatt was supposed to dive into a feud with Bobby Lashley for WrestleMania 39, in an arc that would have involved Uncle Howdy and Alexa Bliss.
However, Wyatt’s injury shelved both Howdy (played by Bo Dallas) and Bliss. Alexa since has announced her pregnancy with husband Ryan Cabrera, so she won’t likely be participating in any storylines, anytime soon.
Interestingly enough, even Bobby Lashley has been weirdly absent from WWE television recently. As per the report, the company has been hesitant in making plans for Bray, as getting him “cleared” for in-ring action has proved to be more challenging than expected.
Bray Wyatt returned to the WWE in the fall of 2022 after being released in 2021. He only wrestled one match, which was with LA Knight at the 2023 Royal Rumble before he was shelved due to an unknown illness.
Medical Update On Johnny Gargano
Meanwhile, former NXT Champion, now main roster talent, Johnny Gargano has been out due to injury. However, Fightful is reporting that he is no longer injured and almost took part in a recent RAW episode when the brand was in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
The report reveals that Johnny Wrestling’s status for SummerSlam is not known at this time, as well as a potential reunion with DIY partner Tommaso Ciampa. It was noted that Gargano was supposed to be suffering from a recurring shoulder injury but is “quite fine” now.
This is why he was “factored” into creative plans recently. However, for one reason or another, they were scrapped.
