Cash Wheeler Arrested For Aggravated Assault With A Firearm

There is some trouble for an AEW wrestler, but it actually does not involve CM Punk or The Elite. Instead, one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champion, Cash Wheeler, was arrested.

The timing of the arrest and details are not known at this time.

Cash Wheeler, real name Daniel Marshall Wheeler, was charged by the Orlando Police Department and booked in Circuit Court.

PW Insider reports that Wheeler already appeared on August 3, where he pled not guilty to charges about aggravated assault with a firearm charge. There remains questions about why he was arrested this morning, August 18.

The following is the what PW Insider noted on the situation:

“Wheeler filed a plead of not guilty to the the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm via his attorney with the circuit court of Orange County, Florida on 8/3. The charge is considered a third degree felony in the State of Florida. So, whatever incident led to the arrest, it happened several weeks ago and was not something that took place overnight.”

In Florida, such charges are considered a third-degree felony. Therefore, Cash Wheeler could be sent to prison for up top five years, fined $5,000 and probation.

It is unknown how long AEW knew about the charges. When asked for a statement today, they provided a general one. AEW stated:

“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. He is fully cooperating with local authorities.”

Wheeler, along with his FTR partner, Dax Hardwood, are currently set for All In in just over a week from England. They are supposed to defend their titles against The Young Bucks, which will be their third meeting, from a packed crowd at Wembley Stadium.

We will have to see if Wheeler will be allowed to leave the United States and travel to England. Sometimes, countries do not let foreigners in if they have certain charges.
