As per a report, the injury Kevin Owens sustained during Monday Night RAW isn’t simply a storyline. More on this, below.
Kevin Owens Is Dealing With A “Real” Injury
During this week’s RAW, KO sat in the corner of Sami Zayn as he faced Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American title. The action led to Kevin being thrown out of the ringside area by the referee.
It didn’t take long for Mysterio’s stablemates, the Judgment Day’s Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, to also be ordered away from the match. With that being said, all three WWE stars returned at the end of the bout.
In the end, KO was taken out by Priest and Ripley at the entrance stage. Seeing his fellow WWE Tag Champions partner get mulled over by the two distracted Zayn, which led to Dominik’s win.
As RAW plugged on, the WWE star was shown backstage with medical staff. While it looked like a storyline was being set up for a tag title defense against Judgement Day, there is more to this.
Who Or What Is Stopping LA Knight?
Later last night, Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful reported that the WWE Tag Team Champion is legitimately injured. It’s been noted that there’s no information regarding the severity of it, but Owens is not set to return to in-ring action.
KO’s Injury Being Used For The Storyline
With that being said, WRKD Wrestling also reported that the superstar has a “real” injury. They also note that this injury is being used to advance the Judgment Day versus the WWE Tag Team Champions program.
If this injury is being used within the storyline to move it forward, this may mean that the WWE star will still be seen on television. It’s hard to say at this point, only time will tell.
