Despite the crowd’s approval, LA Knight lost at Money in the Bank. But, there could be another story developing after the latest backstage news.

Why LA Knight Lost At Money In The Bank

For the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, there were two betting favorites. That was LA Knight and Damian Priest. In the end, WWE had Priest capture the briefcase.

Most people would typically be happy for Priest, but there was a big push for LA Knight to leave with the guaranteed title match. The London crowd and those watching at home were upset when that did not happen.

During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer went over why LA Knight lost at Money In The Bank. Basically, he stated how WWE did not give LA Knight the briefcase because the pay-off was not there.

“Fans think that they’re never getting it, but that isn’t the case here,” said Meltzer. “It’s like ‘if we give him the briefcase, then he’s getting a title shot, but when are we putting the title on him?’ and the answer is never. It’s probably not a good thing to give it to him.”

During the post-show press conference, Triple H was also asked about the status of LA Knight. He told people good things happen to those who wait.

A major drawback for LA Knight is he turns 41 years old this November. At that age, he might only be an active competitor for a few more years. Typically, when WWE puts a major belt on someone, they prefer that wrestler sticks around for a lengthy time.

Eventually, WWE will have to do something with LA Knight. He is just so over organically with fans, that they might be forced to take action. Think how the crowd helped Bryan Danielson and Sami Zayn get better pushes.
