Is Big E Getting Close To WWE Return?
When WWE put the New Day together, nobody thought the stable would last. Now, they are closing in on 10 years together and nobody ever turned on the other. That is extremely rare in pro wrestling.
Of the three members, Kofi Kingston and Big are former WWE Champions. Xavier Woods is still looking for that moment to capture the top prize in WWE.
Only months after dropping the title, Big E would suffer a broken neck during a live episode of SmackDown in March 2022. Since then, Big E has not been cleared to return inside the squared circle.
While speaking on WWE After The Bell, Big E went over his current status. At this point, it does not seem Big E getting close inside a WWE ring is in the plans.
“I feel great,” said Big E. “Unfortunately, I don’t have a timetable.”
“The great thing is, I feel 100%, I don’t even feel like someone who broke their neck. My mobility is incredible and great. My strength is great, I have no issues whatsoever.”
“I wish I had some answers on returning to the ring. I have nothing, unfortunately, but the beautiful thing is I feel great, my body feels great, I’m really thankful for that. Life is good. I’m blessed. I can walk around and touch my toes, go to the gym, all those things. Really grateful.”
He continued how he thanks the EMTs and doctors who helped him recover. While not appearing on camera, Big E has continued to work for WWE in an ambassador type role.
With such an injury, it could be the end of his career. Luckily, he remains in positive spirits and despite not being cleared to wrestle, Big E can still enjoy his life.
So, Big E getting close to a return is currently not in the cards.
