Interesting Money In The Bank Scenario Dropped

Twice a year, WWE produces events with huge implications for the titles. Those shows would be the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank.

Both have passed for this year, with Money in the Bank only about two weeks old. This year, from England, Damian Priest and Iyo Sky walked away with briefcases. At the moment, neither has cashed-in.

A minor issue with Money in the Bank is keeping the gimmick going without getting stale. During  the Monday Mailbag for AdFreeShows, former WWE referee Mike Chioda goes over an interesting Money in the Bank idea he pitched for Dolph Ziggler.

“It was always about Dolph Ziggler and somebody else going for the briefcase,” said Chioda. “As they’re up there, the briefcase opens up.”

“One falls down with the contract [and] one falls down with the f—ing briefcase. So now, the case ain’t nothing without the contract [and] the contract’s nothing without the briefcase.”

“So now you gotta square off into a finals match. I kept pitching that idea, but it never went through.”

In 2012, Ziggler did win Money In The Bank. And, he successfully cashed-in against Alberto Del Ri. For many, it is considered one of the top cash-ins.

Typically, the person holding the briefcase has decent odds for winning gold. So, before the year is over, Priest and Sky could be getting a massive push.

With Finn Balor feuding with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, fans could see Priest cash-on his Judgement Day stablemate or against a fellow Money In The Bank winner.
