Everyone is looking forward to Elimination Chamber. It’s no surprise though, because a lot of matches during the pay-per-view can have serious consequences for WrestleMania 35. So, let us take a look at the current match card and its implications.
Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship
One of the matches that has been officially confirmed is the elimination chamber match for the WWE championship. While it was expected that Daniel Bryan would defend his title during the upcoming pay-per-view, nobody could have guessed the WWE raised the bar a little higher by making it a six-man match.
The upcoming elimination chamber match will include some of the biggest stars on SmackDown Live at the moment. It will include the defending champion Daniel Bryan, but also Mustafa Ali, Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Samoa Joe.
While there is no doubt it will be an outstanding match, one question remains in my mind: “what role will Erick Rowan play?”
Women’s Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber Match
Nobody is more excited than me about the arrival of the WWE women’s tag team championship belts! While I do believe it requires a lot more attention than it is currently getting, an elimination chamber match for the titles certainly is interesting.
There are some teams that have been confirmed for the upcoming elimination chamber match. These teams are Nia Jax & Tamina, The Riott Squad, and Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville. The match will include three more teams, which are yet to be announced.
SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship Match
My new favourite tag team is set for the match of a lifetime at Elimination Chamber. During this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, their opponents were revealed as The Usos.
The Usos have won the Tag Team Championships multiple times over the past few years. They are also popular among the WWE Universe, so they could become a serious threat to Miz and Shane. Of course, the calibre of the participants also makes me have high expectations for this match.
Rumored Matches That Could Be Added
The following matches have not been confirmed officially, yet they are likely to take place at Elimination chamber. These matches include Bobby Lashley versus Finn Balor for the Intercontinental Championship, Becky Lynch versus Charlotte Flair, and R-Truth versus Shinsuke Nakamura for the United States Championship belt.
Based on the names I’ve written down today and how things are probably going to be booked, I have to admit I am more excited about Elimination Chamber than most pay-per-views from last year. One thing is still missing though, a defence for the WWE Universal Championship belt. Of course, we are unlikely to get it until WrestleMania.
