WWE alum and ECW legend Tommy Dreamer claims there are many in the TNA Wrestling locker room annoyed by NXT star Trick Williams holding the company’s top title.
In May, wrestling fans across the spectrum were stunned when two-time NXT champ Trick Williams defeated Joe Hendry for the TNA World title. Most assumed Hendry’s retention was a lock. But the two companies showed they are willing to take risks in their current working relationship.
Most fans seem to be okay with the unexpected creative decision. However, it seems like some on the TNA roster are not thrilled with Williams holding the belt. At least that is what Busted Open Radio co-host Tommy Dreamer told Williams during a new episode this week.
“I have received the most amount of texts from the moment you won. I watched your match with a lot of employees and people who work there… and everyone turned to me and they were like, it was almost like, ‘What are we going to do now?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know… I’m getting everybody texting me, and this is within the company, so if you could get the talent, it’s just imagine what the fans are talking about.”

Williams made his first title defense of the TNA World Title on this week’s edition of NXT. Defeating former AEW tag team titlist Mike Santana. He is set to defend his new belt again this weekend at TNA: Against All Odds. When he faces Elijah, formerly Elias, in WWE.
The TNA World Title was once held by AEW legend Kenny Omega when the two promotions had a working relationship a couple of years ago.
