WWE Rumors: New Backstage Details Emerge On Mariah May’s Arrival In NXT

A new report adds more details on Mariah May jumping from AEW to be the latest member of the WWE NXT women’s roster.

There had been rumblings for the last couple of months that former AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May was dead set on leaving the company so she could bring her talents to WWE. However, the rumors suggested there were still a couple of months left in her deal, and she would be put on ice until then.

But that all changed on Tuesday’s addition of NXT when she made a shocking arrival during a segment with current brand women’s champ Jacy Jayne. It was a that no one saw coming. However, new backstage details have emerged on how the pieces came together for her to switch companies this week.

On Wednesday, Fightful Select revealed WWE decision-makers were “very quiet as to not leak” any information on her arrival. And only “a very tight circle” knew about the plans to have her make her debut on last night’s show. Furthermore, it seems that she became officially available to join the company at the start of this month. The English star has allegedly signed a multi-year deal with her new employer.

There have also been reports that May could get a new name in WWE. That is just a rumor at the moment. And her AEW name — which also happens to be her real name — was mentioned on NXT last night.

Her arrival to the black-and-gold brand comes at just the right time. Over the last few weeks, top stars and former champs Roxaane Perez, Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Jordynne Grace have all been promoted to the main roster.
