Will WWE bring Roxanne Perez to the main roster if she drops the Women’s Championship at NXT Battleground this Sunday?

When Ring Of Honor (ROH) created a Women’s Championship, Roxanne Perez emerged victories. This took place as the world was shutting-down. ROH invested lots of time in the tournament to crown the inaugural champion, but then Tony Khan purchases the failing promotion. Since then, ROH gets little attention and only two other names held the belt over the past 1,000 days.
Perez joining WWE was an instant hit with fans. During a Q&A podcast on Fightful Select, Corey Brennan sees Perez joining the main roster very soon. “I think to go to the main roster as soon as she does lose the women’s title,” said Brennan. “That’s what I think and I’ve heard that as well. I’ve heard back before Stand and Deliver that if she did win it, she wouldn’t be coming up to the main roster until she lost it at the very minimal.”

Her next challenge his at NXT Battleground this Sunday, June 9, from UFC APEX, in Las Vegas. She faces TNA Knockout’s Champion Jordynne Grace. It is a moment in history as TNA contracted wrestler works a WWE show for a title. The forbidden door has been yanked wide-open. Either wrestler has a decent chance of leaving with belts.
Perez is in her second reign as NXT Women’s Champion. She pinned Mandy Rose to win the title, but vacated months later due to a storyline injury. Since then, she has turned into a heel. We have seen Roxanne work the Royal Rumble, not much else on the main roster. At only 22 years old, she has plenty of time to cement her legacy.
