Free from WWE, the Tegan Nox return to the independents hits a snag of unknown reasons.

Not that long ago, WWE made a few somewhat surprising cuts. The company released Tegan Nox, the woman with the shiniest wizard-and some of the worst injury luck I’ve ever seen. She wasn’t the biggest name in the bunch-I would argue that was Baron Corbin-but she was no less notable. After all, unlike most on the list, and most in general, this was not her first release from WWE. Nox was released once before, then made a return about a year later. But, now that she’s been released again, she is free to do as she pleases.
But her return to the independents hit a snag
No longer a WWE Superstar, we can now call the former Tegan Knox as her independent name-Nixon Newell. Newell had been announced for dates in December working with UK promotion ATTACK. But on Friday, as most of us may have been enjoying SmackDown or the Tyson-Paul extravaganza, it was announced that Nixon Newell would be unable to make the dates as previously planned.
Fightful reached out to get a handle on the situation. According to their report, those involved were understandably disappointed. When asked if there was any sort of non-compete coming into play, there was no clear answer either way.

Those in ATTACK had been working with WWE and said things were on good terms. Hearing that, I certainly don’t think the company stepped in to prevent Newell’s independent return. Whatever the reason, hopefully given her history it isn’t anything injury related. Given she was just released, I highly doubt that WWE is already trying to bring her back.
