With John Cena having his retirement set for next year, would Ric Flair be cool if the WWE superstar broke the 16 time world title record?

We got a surprise appearance from John Cena at Money in the Bank and he had a major announcement. He will be competing at WrestleMania 41, but then he is retiring. Cena will be wrestling more in 2025 as he finishes his pro wrestling story.
Upon hearing the announcement, there were a ton of questions. Cena answered a bunch after the premium live event and one involved another title reign. Remember, Cena and Ric Flair are tied at 16 world title reigns each. On Busted Open Radio, Flair noted there was no problem with Cena breaking his long-standing record. “The honest to God truth, I think so much personally of John Cena,” said Flair. “He’s just one of those really great guys, in my opinion. And I have known a few.”
Ric Flair Still Prefers His Daughter Over John Cena
“In a perfect world, it would be my daughter which I think would be the biggest thing that could ever happen,” continued Flair. “If they do it with John, I have no problem. I’d be the first one to hit the ring and shake his hand. They’re meant to be broken. Sentimentally, I like it but – I’d hit the ring on John. I’d probably take a blade, jump him without telling anybody, have him make a comeback, and give me the same hold.”
In all likelihood, Charlotte Flair will surpass her dad’s number. She is not that far off. Ric was last seen working alongside Sting in AEW. With Sting retired, that was the end for Flair. Cena is busy making movies, but 2025 will see him back in the ring on a regular basis. So, do you feel Ric Flair is honest about being okay if John Cena earns world title number 17?
