It was a bizarre and both expected-and unexpected-big event. For weeks, Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes have interacted. And for weeks, those interactions often involved instances where Owens was left looking tempted to turn on Rhodes. Fans were certain it was a matter of time before Owens turned on the American Nightmare. Or, maybe the American Nightmare would turn first?
If Kevin Owens turned and no WWE cameras were there

That is exactly what happened, of course. I do wonder if there will end up being an official WWE high def camera angle. But for now, everything that transpired in the back by Cody Rhodes’ bus? It was fans capturing it and sharing it. Or, I suppose, a WWE staffer from a fan vantage point ensuring someone had a phone out to record. WWE has gone to great lengths to not discuss the incident. The way Triple H talked about it via a social media post, and how Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett dodged, it adds an element of realism to it.
Like, did Kevin Owens turn on Rhodes? Or did Kevin Owens attack Cody Rhodes for real? I am sure this is all an angle, but WWE is handling it like it’s not. And, according to Fightful, the company is extremely pleased with how things have gone and are going. On this week’s RAW, we did see Cody Rhodes, but we did not see Kevin Owens. Friday should be quite interesting, assuming both Superstars are in the building.
