While things ended nicely in Berlin, could Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens give us a surprising turn?

Leading up to their unlikely match at the Bash In Berlin, a turn was teased numerous times. That seed was planted by A-Town Down Under, as we saw clips of Owens many famous turns from the past. And, as we got closer to Berlin, Owens himself teased similarly to Cody Rhodes a time or two. But, as the Bash ended, our big moment between Cody and Kevin was not a heel turn at all.

So, where do things go from here? That’s a good question for many on the roster. After all, this was our first Bash In Berlin. It happened just a few weeks after SummerSlam. We know Bad Blood isn’t too far off, and you can almost start to see Survivor Series off in the distance. Rhodes has been a fighting champion, so surely he would have a battle in Atlanta, right? It would stand to reason, considering he is the prominent WWE Superstar in the television vignettes hyping the show.

One more match?

Could we see Owens and Rhodes run it back one more time? That, right now, would probably be the easiest to get to. We will know a lot more by the end of this upcoming week. But let’s just say that we do get Owens-Rhodes one more time. If we absolutely do, the belief of a heel turn coming out of this program will only intensify. But could Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens give us a surprising turn?

What if, for once, it wasn’t Owens turning on someone. Rather, what if we saw Cody Rhodes snap and turn? I will say, I think this feels unlikely. Personally, I don’t think the Cody face run has lost steam just yet. Not that it has to for a turn, but I feel like it’s going well, so why change it if it isn’t broken. But if that’s the case, why throw it out there? Why would it make any sense at all?

Hell Turn Inevitable

Because the majority, given the track records, surely expect a Kevin Owens turn at some point. It’s inevitable. We’ve seen it time and time again. Sure, some folks have whispered about an eventual Rhodes turn, but most fans likely do not expect it. And it is that element of surprise that would make the heel turn of Cody Rhodes one extremely memorable moment.

Rhodes has been a heel before, both in and out of WWE. It is a role he has and can play quite well. The question that may be getting asked right now? Is it time for the American Nightmare to turn to the dark side once again? Or will Owens have yet another heel turn in him? But, for what it’s worth, we could have something crazy happen-one where both Superstars maintain their present course and heading, both remaining fan favorites for now. I have no doubt in time one or both will be on the heel side of things, but maybe the time for that is far off.
