A new report delivers a major update on Kevin Owens’ WWE contract status.
There are few performers on the WWE roster more respected than Kevin Owens. The man once known as Kevin Steen is a talent who can do whatever the company requires and at a high level. He can be a never-say-die underdog. A funny pal. A spineless bad guy, or even a dangerous villain.

And that is all before going into detail about his versatile skills inside the ring. He is one of the most valuable talents on the WWE roster and the company would be crazy to let him walk. However, that might be a possibility soon. It was reported earlier this year that Owens’ contract will expire in the third quarter of 2024.
That was later followed by speculation that he and the company had come to terms on a new contract. However, last month the former WWE Champion denied those rumors and confirmed his contract does indeed end in the coming months.
WWE has reportedly started contract talks with Kevin Owens
Well, we have an update on the situation and it looks like WWE has started to make moves to keep the “Prize Fighter.” “Kevin Owens has been approached regarding a new WWE contract,” Fightful reported on Thursday.
That is big news for long-time WWE fans who do not want to see the beloved wrestler leave the company he has called him for a decade. However, the outlet also dropped an important nugget of information on what could happen if Owens did hit free agency.
AEW is expected to make Owens a big offer if he becomes available,” Fightful claims. AEW has been throwing around some very big contracts over the last year. And now with a new TV deal set to be completed with Warner Bros./Discovery, the company will have more cash to use on the WWE superstar.
AEW would be a very real threat to sign Kevin Owens since he has a very long friendship with company vice presidents Matt and Nick Jackson. It would also offer him the chance for a fresh start in a major company.
