It was surely one of the worst kept surprises in recent WWE history. The Rock was announced to be showing up at a football game during the day on Saturday, just a short shot away from Atlanta. With the 2024 edition of Bad Blood taking place in Atlanta, it was hard to hide. And considering how The Final Boss departed from WWE several months back, we knew he’d eventually return. After all, he wanted a shot at Cody Rhodes and his title.

So, as the victorious team stood in the center of the ring, with Rhodes holding up the undisputed title, The Rock’s music hit. The TKO board member walked out, soaked in the crowd reaction and just stood there. He looked at the ring. Then he looked as though he might raise his finger to acknowledge the one true tribal chief…but no. He slowly raised four fingers and slashed at his throat, then left. Nothing said, but message sent.

Now what

Well, one fan near where Solo Siko and the new Bloodline scampered off to? They caught an interesting comment from the faux tribal chief. In the clip, you see Solo telling his stable mates that Rock’s arrival is “all part of the plan”. This would seem to tie in with the thought that Rock has been the one pulling the strings behind the scenes for Solo and company. So for anyone thinking Reigns versus Sikoa “wasn’t big enough”? How about Reigns-Rock? That’s certainly big enough.

What we don’t yet know, and may not for a bit? What that plan actually is. With WarGames approaching, fans have wondered for months if it would give us Bloodline versus Bloodline. Would The Rock actually dare get into the Match Beyond? Whatever that move is, things are now in motion once again. Sure, the Road to WrestleMania doesn’t get here until February 1, officially. But with Rock’s big surprise on Saturday, he might have gotten a head start on things. So, what did you think of The Rock’s return closing WWE bad Blood?
