Former WWE superstar MVP last worked under the regime led by WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque. Almost a year removed, the Franchise Playa has not held back from taking shots at his creative style and still does the same.
In a recent interview with betideas.com, MVP reflected back on his past criticism of Triple H leading WWE. The Hurt Syndicate member gave the example of his fellow cohort, Bobby Lashley. The Almighty was a two-time WWE Champion. However, he was reduced to a mid-card attraction in Triple H’s regime.
MVP said, “Let’s just say this, Bobby Lashley was a two-time WWE Champion, and after he took over, Bobby Lashley was reduced to the mid-card. Bobby Lashley is a bankable, marketable guy. And two time WWE Champion just got reduced to mid card, whatever. What I said, specifically in response to the person on my Instagram page, was that you see it. It’s my opinion of how he chooses to book certain talents.”
Moreover, MVP then addressed the netizens who took shots at him for complaining about WWE. He claimed that he was entitled to his opinion and would reveal more about those experiences in his podcast and new YouTube show.
“Some people say all the time that, ‘oh MVP’s just griping, MVP’s just crying’. Okay, well just watch the program. Who were the people in the top spots under his leadership? Who were given the opportunities? And I’m not talking about NXT. I’m talking about the main show. I have my opinions, based on my personal experiences. And at some point on my podcast and my YouTube show, I’ll talk about it and I’ll go in depth about what my issues are with that man,” added MVP.
In the end, the former WWE United States Champion made it clear that he had no respect for Triple H as a person. This was citing the issues he had with him and some things that WWE CCO said to him.
MVP concluded saying, “I’ll be honest with you, my issues with him have nothing to do with race. My issues have to do with him as a person and our personal interactions and things that he said and did that caused me to have zero respect for him. But I’ll get into that on my show.”
The Franchise Playa is currently a part of the AEW roster. He is the manager of The Hurt Syndicate alongside Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and their new member, MJF. The faction has been making waves in the company and is looking to ascend to the top of professional wrestling as a formidable unit.
