Vince McMahon was driven out of WWE, the same company he created decades ago. Recent updates suggest he wants to reclaim his brainchild. However, the decision makers are reportedly not interested in selling it back.
During a recent edition of Behind the Turnbuckle, former WWE employee Jonathan Coachman stated that he had a strong belief that McMahon wanted to buy WWE. This comes a year after his unceremonious exit from its parent company, TKO Group Holdings.
Coachman said, “I’ve been quoted a lot from this show the last week, everywhere, because I have conversations. People trust me. People call me. I talk to them because I don’t treat this like the end-all be-all. And the one thing that I’ve yet to be wrong about — anything. And so now all of a sudden I’m getting on all these websites because I have educated views and I also have people that are tipping me off. Now, do I know 100% he’s going to buy [WWE]? I know that he wants to.”
Despite the Coach’s claims, Masked J of PWNexus took to his X to dismiss his statement. He mentioned very clearly that, according to his sources, TKO was not interested in listing WWE for sale at the moment.
He tweeted, “I was given word that TKO is not interested in selling off WWE. And the source I spoke with chuckled at the thought of Vince purchasing it back. It’s very possible he may feel like he wants it back, but seems very unlikely at this point since WWE is not for sale.”
Vince McMahon bought the company from his father back in the 1980s. With his hard work and effort, he transformed a regional promotion into a global giant, renowned worldwide. The Genetic Jackhammer was the top authority for numerous years. However, he sold the promotion to Endeavour, who merged it with UFC to form TKO Group Holdings in 2024.
However, only a few months later, McMahon was forced to resign from the company. This happened after former WWE employee Janel Grant slapped him with sexual misconduct and sex trafficking charges. With McMahon’s keen interest in buying back WWE speculated, it remains to be seen what would happen next.
