Bill Goldberg’s planned WWE retirement match may not be his final bout in a wrestling ring.
In October, WWE and Goldberg laid the bread crumbs for one more match when he clashed with then-World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at Bad Blood in Atlanta. Since that moment, he and the company have confirmed that it is indeed the plan. And recent rumors and reports suggest it could happen this summer. Possibly at SummerSlam.
However, while fans assume that will be his final match, that may not be the case. In a conversation on Tuesday with “The Claw Pod with Ross & Marshall Von Erich,” Goldberg revealed a dream scenario that would see him have a final match in Israel. And it seems he is still hoping that it is a possibility, with or without WWE.
“I’ll do anything for my faith. Truth be told, my dream was to have my retirement match in Israel,” Goldberg said. [h/t NoDQ]. “Quite obviously, because of the surroundings right now and over the past five years, it just hasn’t been the right place to do it. I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you that I was sorely disappointed that I couldn’t do something in Israel, but retired doesn’t mean dead.”

“I would be honored to go out there at some point, I really would. Never say never, but we’ve been trying to do it for the past number of years, and it didn’t work out. Fingers crossed, that’s all you can do.”
The window for the 58-year-old to keep wrestling is closing quickly. At this point, it seems more likely his final wrestling match is this year in WWE. However, he did recently undergo stem cell therapy to fix his badly banged-up shoulder. And he gave a very positive update on how his body is holding up to training for his upcoming return.
