The WWE legend has made noise about things before, but does a Jey Uso title shot make Rikishi happy over his son’s booking?

A father generally thinks very highly of his children. Rikishi is no different in that respect. Jey Uso has been, without a doubt, one of the most over Superstars since he completed his Bloodline exit and face turn last year. While he’s come close to winning singles gold, thus far the title has escaped his grasp. All the while, he remains a top Superstar. Dad Rikishi got himself a podcast and a platform, and he’s made some of his feelings about his son known.

And he has not been happy

The former WWE Superstar has previously spoken out about WWE not booking his son correctly. He let his opinion be known about the angle between Jey and Rhea Ripley, as an example. And if you’ve been watching RAW, that love angle is still happening. Rikishi even went so far as to suggest that perhaps Jey Uso should consider checking out AEW after his current WWE deal expires. That’s a big statement considering.

So, now that Jey Uso has gotten himself another title shot, is Rikishi happy? Uso challenges Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship on the September 23rd edition of RAW. Sure, Rhea is still swooning for the Yeet Master, but gold is gold, and gold is good, right? Maybe, but it still may not make Rikishi happy.

Discussing his son’s upcoming title shot, he of course wants Jey Uso to win the gold. But he was quick to be a bit down about it too. Realistic, perhaps, but down. He asked out loud of perhaps a Bloodline member might get involved to keep the title off of Jey. While that is possible, the Bloodline have Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to deal with right now. They’ve left Jey alone for a good bit. Then again, going after Jey on RAW just a couple months ahead of Survivor Series? It’s one way to start building toward WarGames, is it not?
