We knew when the debut would be, and now the venue is official, but will Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns be on RAW thanks to Netflix?
January of 2025 is going to be historic for WWE. For the first time ever, the company’s flagship live show-Monday Night RAW-will be live and not on a traditional broadcast partner. When it came time to sign a new television deal for the red brand, WWE landed a mega-deal with Netflix.

Yes, the same Netflix that just streamed Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, and had issues. WWE have already remarked that they are not too concerned with those hiccups. Specifically, if they ever did those numbers, it would be a good problem.
The January debut RAW happens from the Intuit Dome, and is slated to be star-studded. We know Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are set to appear, but will they remain on the red brand?
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns expected to stay on Smackdown
We have already heard that Netflix has told WWE what talent it hopes to see calling their version of RAW home. But the reality is, regardless of whether or not Comcast sells off USA Network…that team want their choice of talent too.
Short of WWE completely ditching the brand split? Not every Superstar can be on every show, and certainly not every week. Or can they? According to sources, Rhodes, Reigns and of course, the retiring John Cena will be in Los Angeles for the most historic RAW since the show debuted.
But, according to those same sources, names like Rhodes and Reigns are not yet planned to stick on RAW. As we have seen plenty, Superstars will cross over to the other brand when it suits a storyline. Jey Uso has been a RAW fixture for over a year, but we’ve now seen him on SmackDown to further the Bloodline story.
If anything, especially as RAW on Netflix has that “new show” smell, I would expect more talent sharing. Considering that January gives us the Road to WrestleMania, having talent appearing on both RAW and SmackDown during that time isn’t the craziest idea. Perhaps the Rumble winner called the blue brand home, but wants a shot at whomever is the red brand champion?
But for now, there are no plans for either Cody Rhodes nor Roman Reigns to switch to RAW full time. But as with anything in pro wrestling, the card is subject to change.
