When it comes to injuries, that is part of the pro wrestling lifestyle. Everyone gets hurt, with injuries varying from minimal to massive. Braun Strowman had a lengthy streak without major injury, but that ended last year. His neck was in bad shape around May and by June, he underwent neck fusion surgery. We are closing in on a year and Strowman is yet to return inside the ring.
Now, we did see him take part in the SmackDown that honored the late Bray Wyatt. Erick Rowan, another member of the former Wyatt Family, also appeared. Outside of that August show, we have seen very little of the giant. He has been representing WWE when they host various events, so he is still very much part of WWE. In fact, during a signing for Fanatics Live, Strowman revealed his return is closing-in.
One More Hurdle To Overcome
“Feeling good,” said Strowman. “Just waiting on that doctor to say ‘go.’ We’re right there [in the home stretch]. Could feel the tension in the air. The bones are very close to being fused up. So, that feeling I got a metal plate and four screws in my neck now. But, it ain’t gonna stop me.”
While away, Strowman was sent to the RAW brand via the WWE Draft. The 40 year is in his second run with WWE, after being released in June 2021. About 15 months later, WWE brought back the Universal Champion. Outside of a short feud with Omos, Strowman had been mostly been tagging with Ricochet. Strowman’s size and power, mixed with Ricochet’s highflying skills, made for must watch TV. He added how one more doctor needs to clear him before heading back inside the ring. So, with the latest Braun Strowman in-ring return, will we see him back before summer begins?
