WWE RAW profiled a fatal four-way match to figure out the next #1 contender for GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Championship. Ricochet was included in that bout, and according to a report, he could be injured.
The high-flying star was one of three other talents that participated in the fatal four-way on RAW. The Miz, Ivar (Viking Raiders), and Bronson Reed were also part of the bout.
The match was incredible, and Miz scored the win to become the new #1 contender for GUNTHER’s IC title. Sadly, a new report reveals that Ricochet suffered an injury.
Ricochet Suffered Injury During WWE RAW
During an edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer chatted about the situation. They note the superstar is in the company’s “concussion pool”, which means he must be cleared by a doctor before returning to action.
This depends on the severity of the concussion. It could take days, weeks, or potentially months for him to recover from this injury.
Alvarez notes that one spot from the match, early on, saw the superstar slam his head onto the mat. He states that it was clear the talent should’ve been pulled from the bout, but he continued on until the match was done.
Alvarez states that from that point forward, for about 3 or 4 minutes, the talent was slow and not at his level. Bryan states that he’s seen a million of his matches and he does not “miss” stuff and is not “slow”.
Still, both Alvarez and Meltzer agreed that after the commercial break, the talent’s condition improved. He likely regrouped during the break.
There was an awkward point near the end of the match where the superstar had kicked out while the referee continued to count to three. Still, it’s not clear if that was an angle or just a botch.
