The Hardy Boyz made their grand return to WWE this week. However, it was not on an episode of WWE Raw or Smackdown. Instead, the legendary tag team appeared for the first time on NXT. The reigning TNA Wrestling tag champions had a successful debut by defeating No Quarter Catch Crew. However, they won’t be one-and-done in NXT.
Following the match it was revealed that they will defend their titles against NXT tag champs Fraxiom at NXT Road Block next month in New York City. However, Wrestle Votes reported Tuesday that there is “internal buzz” this is all the start of many more appearances for the Hardy Boyz in NXT and the WWE main roster this year.

With that in mind, let’s look at six WWE tag teams we would love to see the Hardy’s face in 2025.
The War Raiders
The War Raiders are one of the top teams in WWE currently and have a hard-hitting style similar to former Hardy Boyz rivals the Dudley Boyz and APA. The matches would surely be entertaining and the WWE Raw team could benefit from the Hardy’s rub at this juncture of their careers.

DIY
DIY is another premiere tag team on the WWE roster. However, they have never crossed paths with the Hardys during their lengthy careers in professional wrestling. With the WWE legends at the end of their career, a clash with the new evil version of DIY feels like a must in 2025.
Motor City Machine Guns
Despite being a legendary team in TNA, the Motor City Machine Guns never faced the classic version of the Hardy Boyz during the brother’s first stint in TNA. The two duos are among the greatest tags of all time. Having them meet up in a WWE ring is a dream match wrestling fans have wanted for years.

The New Day
The New Day’s peak period did not coincide with the Hardy Boyz’s time in WWE. And when they were on the same roster the two teams were both babyfaces and not pitted against each other. With New Day having gone to the dark side recently, a feud between two of the greatest WWE teams in company history needs to happen at some point in 2025.

Lucha Bros
Penta has made a huge impact in WWE since making his debut earlier this year. Recent reports suggest his brother Rey Fenix is working on his AEW release. And could be WWE-bound soon. The Lucha Bros. and Hardy Boyz did not get an extensive feud while they were all in AEW. Pitting them against each other in a WWE ring this summer would be an exciting clash of generational teams.

Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa
Like the Motor City Machine Guns, the Guerillas of Destiny — aka Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa — have long been one of the very best teams in the world outside WWE. The Bloodline members facing the Hardys is another dream match fans have wanted. Once Loa returns from his recent injury, the Hardy Boyz feuding with the legendary NJPW team is something WWE needs to do this year.
