The Women’s Tag Team Championship have been nothing but a headache for WWE as they could keep switching hands for unseen reasons. Now, is WWE tossing the gold?

Will WWE Drop The Jinxed Women’s Tag Team Championship?

The Women’s Tag Team Championships have to be jinxed. The titles have changed so frequently, that fans cannot remember most of the reigns.

Lately, injuries suffered to Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan caused the gold to be vacated several times this year. And, that trend continued earlier in the week.

The current champions are Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green, who were set for a lengthy reign. Although, something will need to be done as Deville suffered an ACL tear on the July 28th edition of SmackDown.

She will be out of action likely six to twelve months. So, WWE needs to once again change their plans.

Unfortunately, very few superstars had a decent run with the those titles. Asuka and Kairi Sane had an impressive run, but this feels like the only memorable moment over the course of several years.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted how the current booking will see a tournament to crown new champions. As of now, WWE has not confirmed that rumor.

There has also been speculation the belts would not be specific to one brand. Instead, the champions would work RAW, SmackDown and NXT.

In the meantime, Green is turning Deville’s injury into an angle. She is holding a ‘Chelsea’s Got Talent’ audition to find her new partner.

It seems Green will not be willingly forfeiting her half of the title. And, that works great with her ‘Karen’ gimmick, which has been a huge hit with fans.

Regardless of whatever the final decision is by WWE in regards to the titles, from everyone at Wrestle Newz, we wish Deville a safe and speedy recovery.
