There is no denying his popularity, but will we ever see a big Matt Riddle push?
He has achieved a decent amount of success within WWE, starting with his run in NXT.
The most recent peak? Has to be his unlikely run with Randy Orton.
Together, RK-Bro held the RAW tag titles a lot longer than anyone had expected or planned.
Along the way, there had at least been rumors that he was in consideration for such big opportunities as winning a past Royal Rumble.
Such a move would surely signify the popular Superstar was going to reach new heights…but we’ve still never seen it happen.
So…
Will We Ever See A Big Matt Riddle Push?
The Wrestling Observer has an interesting view on this, and it probably won’t sit well with fans of the Original Bro.
Following his clean loss to Ludwig Kaiser on the July 30 episode of RAW, the Observer notes that perhaps his star has fallen.
And, about that big push? It’s quite possibly a near impossible long shot at this point.
While a rising NXT talent, Riddle rubbed some the wrong way (he was already calling out Brock Lesnar…).
That pales in comparison to what he’s had swirling around him while on the main roster.
The former MMA star has had a nasty divorce, issues with drugs, some sordid accusations and now an interesting relationship with an adult film star.
Who is also now expecting a baby with Riddle.
While no one in WWE has come out and concurred with the view of the Observer, there certainly could be some validity to it.
WWE knows that he is one of the more popular Superstars. They also know that, as a public company, image matters…and when someone is making news outside the ring for a lot of iffy reasons, it matters.
Could WWE soften things up and put a big title on Riddle? Anything is possible.
For now, it seems like any world championship aspirations he may have are on ice.
