With his competition and his own promotion in need of new deals, Tony Khan discusses AEW’s WB television future.
We’ve been hearing about negotiations between the now five year old promotion and the media giant for a while now. In fairness, it hasn’t all been about television rights renewals.
AEW being a growing and new entity, they are still maturing their media offerings. Such things as a network, similar to what WWE has had for a bit, have been discussed.
This specific discussion is about the on-air product.
AEW have worked with Warner channels since basically the beginning.
Now, however, there is a chance that WWE may see Monday Night RAW move to one of TNT or TBS.
The same networks that have had AEW titles named for them.
This buzz has increased since CM Punk made his stunning return to WWE back in November.
Apparently, the executives from Warner Bros-Discovery are big Punk fans, and it sounded as though his shift to WWE made them have more interest in WWE.
RAW remains the last WWE television property without a new home, or a renewed one.
NXT is heading to The CW, while SmackDown will eventually move to the USA Network.

Tony Khan Discusses WB Television Future
When asked about the chances of WWE landing a deal with Warner, Tony Khan was blunt.
As he put it, this year will be a big year with a lot of free agency movement. That includes some television rights deals being negotiated.
He likened it to any typical sports free agency period, where everyone is interested in everyone, until deals are done.
That WWE and WB have had talks is not that crazy. It would be more crazy if they had not at least had some exploratory discussions.
But, Khan was confident that his company has forged a great working relationship with the WB family, and that may help them in the long run.
One thing is for sure…2024 is going to be an exciting year to keep an eye on.
