After a stunning exit, the unemployed CM Punk speaks out…and his first public comment since his termination were not at all what you’d expect.
Shortly after his release, those close to the situation expected some major and damning comments to come flying from both sides.
Thus far, while we’ve heard a bit more about why Tony Khan did what he did…CM Punk had said…nothing.
Like, no posts, no talk through sources, nothing.
Absolutely crickets.
We know that apparently, Khan feared for his life (which got laughed at by many veterans of the wrestling business).
What we don’t know is if Punk had a non-compete clause or not, leaving many wondering how soon we’d see him show up in WWE…if he still wanted that.

Because yes, during the fallout, we found out that following his first major issue in AEW, Punk had a desire to leap to WWE.

The former AEW, WWE and UFC talent made his first public comments in two weeks.
Punk showed up to do commentary on Caged Fury Fighting Championship and while providing insight, his broadcast partner and he referred to what transpired after All In.
In the process of sharing comments, CM Punk provided an interesting hint.
He said that he had free time “for the next two months”.
For those of you doing the math, two months from now would be mid-November.
Survivor Series is in Chicago on November 25th.
Assuming that the two months is Punk alluding to a non-compete, it would seem he would be a free agent by the time WWE hits the Windy City.
What I will add here is, Punk has already been in limbo for two weeks. A two and a half month non-compete seems a bit odd, so I am wondering out loud if Punk did a little rounding error.
Meaning, he may have another 2 weeks, plus the 2 months.
However you slice it…if WWE is as interested as Punk might have been a year ago…there is a much bigger chance we see Chicago’s favorite wrestling son in WWE before the calendar flips to December.
