Sting Was Against AEW Tag Team Title Win

Sting did something he has not done since his TNA days by winning the AEW tag team title, but “The Icon” did not want the gold.

Sting Was Against AEW Tag Team Title Win

Dynamite concluded this week with Sting & Darby Allin defeating Ricky Starks & Big Bill. Therefore, we have new AEW Tag Team Championship.

The new champions did not have long to celebrate. Post-match, The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) attacked the two.

Clearly, AEW is building towards their Revolution pay per view on  March 3. It comes from the  Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina.

The selling point is how Sting will retire during the show.

Fightful Select reports Sting never campaigned to hold gold. In fact, he was against even challenging for the belts.

The report continued how AEW decided months ago Sting would win his first AEW title before his retirement. Backstage, Sting was said to be all smiles after capturing the title.

Since joining AEW, Sting is yet to lose. Him and Darby have over two wins, so the promotion felted obligated to at least put the title match together.

As for The Young Bucks, they were sleeted by Sting to be part his final match. Some thought a singles bout was the direction, but Darby allows for more bumps.

Come March, the legend will turn 64 years old. While he has slowed in the recent years, his performances do not match that of a senior citizen.

It is remarkable how he continues to stay to decent in-ring shape and wrestle people half his age.

Remember, his career seemed over after WWE doctors would not clear him to wrestle following an injury while facing Seth Rollins. He then joined AEW and never looked back.
