Sheamus WWE Contract Likely Extended Due To Injury

There are a bunch of contracts up early next year for WWE and AEW. Therefore, fans might see several wrestlers make the leap.

Sheamus is someone whose deal was supposed to be up in early 2024. Due to him missing months of action, WWE is likely to add on time to his current contract according to Fightful’s Sean Sapp.

Fans have not seen him since August. His last match was losing in what would be Edge’s final WWE match.

While not confirmed, there have been reports of Sheamus returning to WWE as early as tonight’s SmackDown. There was even talk of him working tomorrow’s Survivor Series.

The first few months of the year saw Sheamus and his friend, Drew McIntyre, go after the Intercontinental Championship. Neither took the belt from Gunther, despite a hard-hitting affair at WrestleMania 39.

There remains questions about McIntyre’s status after turning heel. Some say he re-signed and others disagree.

When Sheamus does return, he might be busy right away. His stablemates in the Brawling Brutes have hinted about trouble brewing.

Since joining WWE, Sheamus has been heavily pushed. He won the WWE Championship in his rookie year by defeating John Cena.

As of late, we have not seen Sheamus capture any world title. Although, he could be a perfect fit to feud with Roman Reigns.

Since his impressive heel run started, Reigns has disposed of everyone. The Irish wrestler would be a fresh feud and another cap for Reigns.

And, Sheamus is somewhat due for another WWE Championship run as his last one was six years ago.
