Samoa Joe is being praised by those in AEW for getting the ship back on track following CM Punk and Jack Perry getting into it as All In was just starting.
Samoa Joe Praised After CM Punk & Jack Perry All In Incident
All In started on very shaky grounds. Jack Perry lost on the pre-show, but took a direct shot a CM Punk in the process.
The two apparently had issues dating to a backstage segment that Punk considered too hazardous. Basically, Perry wanted to use real glass for a segment and Punk did not see the point.
After Perry made remarks during his pre-show match, he went to the back and Punk was there as he opened the card. They got into a squeamish and both have apparently been suspended while AEW looks into the matter.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated Samoa Joe received praise for how he handled the situation.
“That person said that once they were separated, Punk lunged in Khan’s direction,” the report stated. “But, a number of people got in his way while Punk was yelling, ‘I Quit.’”
“Monitors were knocked down during all this. Samoa Joe was very upset and went to calm Punk down.”
“Another person said that many of the wrestlers think both Perry and Punk were at fault, and when the talent found out, they got more motivated to put on great matches. It kind of brought everyone together and Samoa Joe was a real leader.”
Obviously, Punk did not quit as he defeated Joe to start the historic All In card.
Still, it has to leave people wondering if Punk is worth the hassle. He was suspended last year for starting another brawl with The Elite.
And, Perry is also at fault. These are grown adults who are acting like they are in high school.
Thankfully, the great night of action was not tarnished within minutes.
So, with Samoa Joe being highly praised for handling the ordeal, should he be promoted by AEW?
