When CM Punk returned to AEW, lots of people wondered how he would act. For the most part, he has been kept separate from The Elite to avoid any problems.

Still, Punk manages to anger those around him. Since returning after suspension and surgery, Punk and Jack Perry got into a backstage altercation

Basically, Perry wanted to use real glass for a backstage segment. Punk heard and thought it was pointless to take such a risk.

As a result, AEW introduced rules where talent needs approval for certain spots. The idea is to keep everyone safe, while causing less headaches backstage.

During All In, the pre-show closed with Hook regaining the FTW Championship from Hook. The match started at the top of the entrance ramp, where Jack Perry arrived via a limousine.

Before a particular spot, which would see the limo used, Perry looked at the camera and took aim at Punk.

“You know what this is right here? Real glass! Go cry me a river,” shouted Jack Perry into the camera.

You have go back and look at the entire situation with Punk and Perry. While Perry wanted to make the spot look realistic, broken glass is a hazard for everyone.

AEW does like to use glass, but they need to be careful. Outside of the obvious dangers, wrestlers do not want to overuse the element.

2023 has been a complete change for Perry. He turned heel for the first time after several failed attempts to claim gold. While AEW does not recognize the FTW Championship as one of their own, Perry did accomplish his goal of becoming a singles title holder this year.
