Malakai Black Unsure Why AEW Won’t Book Him In Singles Match

Absent from TV since AEW All In last month is Malakai Black. On that historic show from England, House of Black dropped the Trios Championship to The Accompanied and Billy Gunn.

In an Instagram story posted Wednesday, Black went over his current situation. He is not hurt and is also curious why he has not been booked in singles matches.

“I appreciate the fact that people care and that it comes from a good place,” said Black. “But about a year or so ago, I made a video about rehabbing a back injury that I had.”

“After the video was posted, people started running with this idea that, ‘Oh, he has a bad back and therefore A, B, or C,’ which is not the case at all. None of these things are true.”

“Why am I not having singles matches? I don’t know. I appreciate the concern, but the reality is that I’m fine.”

Malakai Black joined AEW after being let go by WWE. Instantly, he started a program with Cody Rhodes.

Briefly, he disappeared from TV and some thought he was returning to WWE. Instead, he returned and has been better featured since Collision debuted on Saturday nights as the leader of The House of Black.

Along with Brody King, Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart, they have terrorized almost everyone in their path. It is definitely one of the better stables put together by AEW and they group does not seem to be slowing in the near future.
