The AEW contract for Jim Ross expires in just over a month and, as of now, he is yet to sign a new deal for the company.

We have spoken at length about a bunch of wrestlers in AEW and WWE, with contracts that are almost up. Although, we cannot forget about other personal who have deals too.

For the AEW side, commentator Jim Ross revealed his contract ends on February 14. Basically, he has just over 30 days left before both sides need to make a new deal.

On the latest “Grilling JR” podcast, the WWE Hall of Fame revealed the final date on his calendar.

“I’d like to finish up in AEW,” said Ross. “I got to be realistic about things.” 

“I love working with AEW.”

Remember, AEW has big plans for their March 3 pay per view, Revolution. Sting has confirmed he will retire at the show and Ross has agreed to call the match.

As of now, the icons final match has not been confirmed. But, based off Dynamite, Sting & Darby Allin vs The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson), seems likely.

Ross’ pro wrestling career is legendary. He has worked for most of the top promotions during his several decade run.

This also included a long stretch in WWE, where he called the action and played a huge backstage role. He departed WWE after Vince McMahon thought Ross was past his prime.

Immediately, he was signed by AEW. He was a key figure in the early days, but medical issues have seen him used less.

If AEW passes, it will be intersting to see where Ross lands. There are other wrestling companies, but he has other responsibilities.

Ross has a popular bbq sauce line and podcast. Hence, he has options outside of pro wrestling.
