Carlito Cancels On Indie Show Stating He’s Back With The WWE
Many fans were excited to see Carlito’s surprise appearance at WWE’s Backlash pay-per-view (PPV) recently. As per a report from Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, the WWE Universe may see a lot more of him in the company, moving forward.
The 44-year-old recently canceled an indie wrestling booking for July 15th of this year. Promoter Devon Nicholson states it’s because the talent told him he’s going back to the WWE.
With that being said, nothing is “in stone” as it stands. Meltzer does say it wouldn’t shock him in the least if Carlito returns to the company with a more permanent role.
Carlito Came In For The Save At WWE Backlash
Caribbean Cool showed up unexpectedly at the PPV to give Latino World Order the assist when they were attacked by Judgement Day. This was his first appearance with the WWE since the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble.
After Backlash, the former WWE superstar said he was open to “whatever”, noting he’s always ready to entertain wrestling opportunities with the company or anywhere else. Still, he made it clear he wasn’t going to sit by the telephone waiting for an offer.
The talent added that he’s currently “happy” working the independent scene. It was previously reported that his Backlash appearance was to be a “one-off”.
However, officials were unexpectedly surprised at the reaction he received, which surpassed expectations. In fact, his comeback footage went viral on the WWE’s social media channels and YouTube.
This was a major indication that he still has a ton of fans within the WWE Universe. It’ll be interesting to see if fans see the talent show up programming soon.
