After breaking his ankle, is the latest AJ Styles injury update any good? And, Jerry Lawler’s health following a stroke earlier in the year.
AJ Styles Injury Update
For AJ Styles, 2022 ended on a negative note. In the last day of the year, Styles broke his ankle during a WWE live event.
After the news, Styles seemed to luck-out has he did not require surgery. Instead, he was going to let the injury heal and go to rehab.
Well, we are approaching four months later and Styles has not retuned to WWE. PW Insider noted how the current AJ Styles injury update remains unclear.

He is still waiting on the injury to heal and there is no timeframe for a return.
Also, the report noted how he has not been spotted at the WWE Performance Center. Typically, superstars close to returning head to the WWE Performance Center before coming back to TV.
The timing was awful for Styles. The injury caused him to miss the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 39 as well.
It marks the first time since joining WWE that Styles missed the biggest show of the year. And, if you recall, Styles debuted in WWE as a surprise entrant in the Royal Royal years ago.
Styles joining WWE was something fans were unsure would ever happen. He was part of WCW towards the end of the company’s existence.
Instead of inking with WWE, he landed in Impact Wrestling. Quickly, he became the face of the X Division and later their top star.
Then, he would not take a pay-cut and understandably left. He traveled the world for a bit, even becoming the leader of the Bullet Club.
Since 2016, Styles has been a member of the WWE. Vince McMahon did not see much at first, but the fans helped Styles land in the main event scene.
Since then, he has won a ton gold, including the WWE Championship on two occasions. Plus, he has phenomenal matches with some of the biggest stars in WWE, like John Cena.
Before getting hurt, Styles reformed The O.C. with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. They were working with The Judgment Day before the injury and without Styles, his stablemates have done very little.
So, does the latest AJ Styles injury update have fans concerned about his wrestling future?
Jerry Lawler’s Health After Stroke
In February, Jerry Lawler suffered a stoke and the situation was conceded quite serious. Since then, Lawler is on the mend and Mike Johnson on PWI Elite noted how he continues to make positive steps in his recovery process.
Shortly after the stroke, Lawler put out a short video with the help of fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart. It was obvious, “The King” was having trouble speaking and moving.
He did appear in a taped video for the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame. He helped induct his friend, and TV enemy, the late, Andy Kaufman. In this video, Lawler did appear to be improving.
Lawler did cancel an appearance set for next week in New Jersey. Although, he still plans to attend the Gathering IV convention in August.
When it comes to pro wrestling, few had career as lengthy as Lawler. He has won more titles than people can keep track and still remains part of the WWE family.
Unfortunately, Lawler has dealt with several ailments over the years. During an episode of RAW in September 2012, Lawler suffered a heart attack on the air shortly after wrestling a match.
He was rushed to the hospital and that situation did look good either. He survived and would somehow return to WWE only months later.
Hopefully, “The King” makes a full recovery and fans get to see him call a few more matches. Most want him to retire inside the ring, but that is easier said than done.
