Popular Former AEW Champion Reportedly Being Fazed Out Due To Awful Backstage Reputation

Tony Khan has assembled one of the top-tier rosters of professional wrestlers in AEW over the years. However, in light of recent events, a top star has developed an unfavorable backstage reputation. And they may unofficially be done with the company.

Since its inception in 2019, AEW has emerged as a direct competitor to WWE. This has seen multiple talents from WWE jump ship to Tony Khan’s promotion. Moreover, Khan himself has built some homegrown talent who have turned into mainstream stars.

However, one of those top stars from AEW could be on their way out of the Jacksonville-based promotion. New rumors claim an unpopular backstage reputation and real-life incidents could lead to a prominent former champion not returning to the company after being written off television months ago.

According to a report by PW Torch’s Wade Keller, former AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. might be done with the company. The report stated that Tony Khan and other wrestlers are frustrated with her conduct backstage, with one person stating that she might never come back. Moreover, it was also said that no one in the locker room would like to have her back in the mix.

“People have been wondering where Britt Baker is. She might be done with AEW, at least the feeling I’m getting from talking to people in AEW is Tony Khan might have her in the same category as some other wrestlers, where they just don’t get phone calls and don’t get called in to show up,” Keller revealed. “There’s a lot of frustration with her, I’m told, and I’ve heard this pretty consistently.

“She’s wildly unpopular in the women’s locker room. One person said no one ever wants to see her come back, speaking of the women’s locker room. Now, that is a bold, broad statement. I could imagine somebody on social media going, ‘I’m a woman in AEW, and I want her back.’ But I’m just telling you, somebody’s perception is nobody wants her back. That’s how bad it is.”

Furthermore, the report also outlined the reasons for her tarnished backstage reputation. It was noted that Britt Baker had become difficult to work with and had multiple backstage incidents. This included the one with MJF and his girlfriend, which was reported back in August.

“There was a specific situation recently and not counting the MJF, situation, where people just threw their hands up,” he claimed. “Maybe it wasn’t like a huge deal, but it was enough to sort of be the straw that broke the camel’s back in terms of just feeling like, you know what, we’ve got a strong women’s division now compared to when she was on top, and we don’t need to deal with her.” She’s going to be this difficult to work with. And so that’s where they are with her”, as stated in the report.”

Britt Baker’s last appearance on AEW television was during a November edition of Dynamite. She battled Penelope Ford in a match. Since then, fans have not seen The Doctor in Tony Khan’s company.
