It might be a coincidence, or maybe it is not, but after Penta’s debut on WWE Raw, AEW seemed to again punish his brother Rey Fenix.
It was perhaps the worst-kept secret in wrestling for 2024. WWE wanted to bring in Penta and Rey Fenix from AEW, and the interest was mutual. Michael Cole even alluded to the secret on RAW during the latter’s Monday Night Raw debut this week.

We also know that Tony Khan wasn’t too happy about the news that Penta, Rey Fenix, and WWE had rumored mutual interest. While both wrestlers had deals that were due to expire in 2024, Khan decided to make things a bit hard.
Fenix had sustained some injuries during his AEW run. And it was Khan’s right to tack on injury time to his contract. Something WWE has done as well in the past. But, many suspected Khan did it out of spite (probably). This week, it seems Khan threw some salt in Fenix’s wound.
After Penta Debut AEW Pulls Rey Fenix Merchandise of Website

Rey Fenix wants out and is enduring his injury time. Penta had a smashing debut on RAW. And on Tuesday, fans on social noted that AEW had pulled Rey Fenix’s merchandise from their digital store.
It is entirely possible that there just happened to be an error on the AEW merch page and it only impacted Rey Fenix. But what are the odds? Most would say slim to none. At the end of the day, it’s expected that WWE will eventually land Fenix. Once his contract has wrapped up in AEW, fans get to look forward to another exciting debut from a popular luchador.
