By all accounts, Ric Flair is done wrestling. Yes, we have herd that over a dozen times, but I think physically his body cannot handle the abuse. If you remember, he last competed July 2022, where Flair & Andrade defeated Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal. Shortly after, he announced that he would never retire. Although, he later revealed that he suffered a heart attack during the match. He faked one, but claims he did have a real-one. Therefore, the risk is too high for Flair and anyone crazy enough to book a match.
Now, former WWE manager Dutch Mantell, on Wrestling’s Smack Talk, wants to wrestle Flair in a joke dubbed the, ‘First Man Standing’ match. Now, he is purely having fun, but you never nowadays what can set someone off.
Challenge Issued For Flair Ric Farewell Match
“I’ll challenge Ric Flair to a match,” said Mantell. “My last match to by the way. This will be Flair’s last match. It’s called First Man Standing. We’ll just two chairs and put it in the ring and the first man to his feet wins. I’ll just need a TV so I can watch Netflix and all that. Just get Ric a case of beer so he can sit there and knock that down. Both of us will see if we can get up, move around and just get out of the ring. So, that’s my challenge to Ric Flair.”
It feels like Mantell is certainly taking shots at Flair too. Particularly, because he never stays retired. Flair wrestled for 50 years over the course of 6 decades. That is simply wild. Lately, he is part of AEW, but has not done much since Sting retired. So, after being challenged to a final farewell match, will Ric Flair be coaxed back into wrestling?
