Controversial wrestler Matt Riddle spoke to Tony Khan and the conversation was strange; leading to doubts of an AEW debut.

In the UFC, Matt Riddle was off to an impressive start. Eventually, he was let go because he failed several drug tests fort marijuana. While he did not have something dangerous, like steroids or dope, in his is system, marijuana was not permitted. Therefore, several of his wins were overturned to no contests. He left MMA and began a pro wrestling journey, where he was signed by WWE.
Riddle began his stint in NXT and then headed to the main roster. He worked with some of the biggest names like Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and even had some backstage interactions with Goldberg. Despite being pushed, Riddle proved to once again be his own worst enemy. He was sent to rehab, got a divorce, dated a porn star, had a private video leaked and a lot more. After all the nonsense, WWE finally let him go.
Matt Riddle Has Options Besides AEW And WWE
Outside of WWE, Riddle has been busy working around the world. He is becoming a regular feature at NJPW and MLW. As for AEW, Riddle told Steven Muelhausen of SI’s The Takedown, how he spoke to Tony Khan and it did not go well. “I talked to Tony and I don’t know if he likes me,” said Riddle. “He seemed happy. I wrestled Zach Sabre Jr. in Chicago. He seemed cool about it. When you meet me, I’m very sarcastic. But, when I met him, I was like, ‘oh, you like that match?’ But, I said it a different way, and he looked at me all confused. And, I was like, ‘never mind, dude.’ I just walked away. So, that was my experience with that.”
Fightful Select added how Tony Khan was never a fan. Honestly, not hiring Riddle was one of Khan’s best decisions. The belief is Riddle will at least work a few dates for TNA Wrestling. With Bound For Glory taking place next month, it might be the perfect time to debut. So, should Tony Khan hire Matt Riddle for AEW or is that a terrible idea?
